My husband changed the wifi password on our network and I can't figure out how to change the printer password. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi @jayneaf1,

I'd like to help!

Try the below suggestions-

Connect a printer that does not have a touchscreen control panel

Use Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), HP Smart, or temporarily connect a USB cable to establish a wireless connection between your printer and network.

Connect the printer with WPS

Use WPS to connect the printer to your wireless network.

  1. Locate the WPS button on your router, but do not press it yet.

If your router does not support WPS, skip to the next step to connect the printer with the HP Smart app.

  2. Turn on the printer. If the printer is in sleep mode, press the Cancel button on the control panel.

  3. On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button  for at least 3 seconds or until the wireless light starts to flash.

  4. On the router, press and hold the WPS button for 3 to 5 seconds or until it shows that the WPS connection process has started.

Once the printer connects to the wireless network, the blue Wireless light on the control panel turns on solid.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks for the suggestions:

1. When I hold the wifi button on the printer Only the wireless and ready button flash. The attention button does not flash.

2. I tried holding the WPS button on the router - nothing

3. I tried connecting the printer to my MacBook - nothing.

I'm so frustrated. I got scammed by the people who say they are HP support and they did set up my printer so we could print from anywhere and then my husband changed the password. I'm afraid to call the scammers back (I already paid $99.00) since I read all the reviews on the Better Business website.

I may just chuck this printer and buy another.

Do you have a USB cable to connect between the printer and the computer?

We will be able to convert USB to wireless.

You may refer to -Changing from a USB to a Wireless Connection

Let me know if this helps!

Thank you. I was able to successfully uninstall and re-install the printer and it is now working wirelessly from my MacBook and my iPhone.

Greatly appreciate the support. I should have just done that the first time before calling support.

Thank you for your quick response.
