I am at University and have just bought a HP Deskjet 2620 to print in my room, and I had connected the printer to the Uni Hall’s wifi network and it was working fine, then tried to get HP Instant ink but it won’t let me for some reason. So then I did some research and saw that it won’t let a lot of people get HP instant ink when connected to a University Halls network, but saw someone had connected to their Mobile Hotspot and got the Instant Ink that way. I tried to connect my printer to my mobile hotspot but it isn’t showing up in the list of networks when I try to connect it on the HP iOS app. If someone could help me understand this that would be amazing! Thanks

You will need to connect your printer to mobile hotspot from 1st smartphone, and then use 2nd smartphone device to connect to the same hotspot and to the printer and then it should work. Try that.
If you have only one smartphone that is used at the same time as a mobile hotspot and for printing with HP iOA app it will not work.

Thanks for responding. I just want to be able to get Insant Ink but I can’t do that when the printer is connected to the hall’s network for some reason. I’m wondering if I connect the printer to my own personal Mobile hotspot, then maybe I will be able to get instant ink that way (in other posts it has worked for other people that way.) But I cannot seem to connect my printer to my mobile hotspot...
