Hi, I have an envy 4524 printer and I never used it's scanner (except for scanning the setup page that the printer prints when you insert a new toner) . I want to scan images and send them to my phone, I downloaded the hp app, and it wants me to connect to the printer via WiFi, I do it but then it says there's no internet connection, that's probably because the only way the printer uses internet is through my phone's hotspot, but when I turn the wifi on the hotspot automatically switches off. Could someone tell me how do I scan images and send them to my phone? Thanks!

Hi @Bmcbmu,
I'd like to help!
You can connect to the printer via Wi-Fi direct and scan to your phone using the HP Smart app.
Install HP Smart app on your phone, refer to - Install and Use the HP Smart App (Android, Apple iOS, iPadOS)
To connect via Wi-Fi direct -
-
Turn on the printer and make sure ink cartridges are installed and paper is loaded in the tray.
-
Get the Wi-Fi Direct printer name (Example: DIRECT-72-HP Officejet Pro 6970) and password.
Printers with a control panel display: Open the Wi-Fi Direct menu or print a network configuration report to get the printer name and password.
-
Touch the Wi-Fi Direct icon or open the Wi-Fi Direct settings menu to get the name and password.
-
-
On your computer or phone go to wifi and connect it to your printer
-
Select your printer with DIRECT in the name from the list of available networks (example: DIRECT-74-HP Deskjet2600).
-
Select the Wi-Fi Direct printer signal in Wi-Fi settings
-
If prompted for a password, type the password on the printer screen to connect.
then go to your HP Smart and then scan.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
