I have a Samsung S8 Plus, and I've had this issue for a very long time, including with previous smartphones.

My issue is that the prints are always blurry, where all of the letters and pictures get offset by a tiny bit. Each letter appears twice, but extremely close together, which makes it difficult to read the words.

While messing around with this today, I realized I'm able to get it to print normally if I go through the HP Smart app and solely use just that app to print. However, if I click on the pdf file and then print through my phone's built-in print set-up screen, I then get the blurry prints again.

Again, the issue occurs anytime I use my phone's built-in print menu option, but I don't have the issue if I only use the print menu in the HP Smart app to print.

This is frustrating because it's much more of a hassle this way. I want to be able to print stuff without having to switch apps, or to be able to print web pages without first saving it as a pdf.

Any suggestions?

Hi @Mike928,

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Flower_Bud is at your service.

As I understand, your printer prints blurry if trying to print directly from the phone.

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Are you using Samsung Print Service Plugin to print Pdf?

How is the copy quality?

Let's perform these steps to turn off Samsung Print Service Plugin:

  1. Tap Settings , tap MoreMore networksMore settings, or NFC and sharing, and then tap Print or Printing.
    • Figure: Example of the Samsung Print Service Plugin

  2. Tap Samsung Print Service Plugin, and then tap Off.

  3. You could try printing using HP Print service plugin.

Keep me posted,

Have a great day 🙂

Cheers!

Samsung print service plugin doesn't show up on that page, and HP Inc. is turned on.

HP Inc. is the only option shown on that page in my settings.

You asked about the copy quality. Again, I said in my original post that the printer works fine, except for when I use my phone's built-in print option.

It prints fine when I solely use just the HP Smart app, and it also copies fine.

When I say, my phones built-in print option, I'm referring to the screen that you see when you press print when in a file or in a web browser. I have the issue when I print that way, but it's much easier and more convenient to print that way instead of having to switch to the HP Smart app.

Have you tried different Web browser?

If not, suggest you try a different browser.

Also, try printing using Samsung Print Service Plugin.
