HP Officejet 6700 Premium
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Yesterday Centurylink came to my home to fix my slow internet. They upgraded my wireless router. My printer now won't print documents from my computer. It reads: Error printing of HP Officejet - Offline

I have followed the troubleshooting tips...I think ALL of them. I powered everything off. Started it all back up. I used the Wireless Setup Wizard and reset up my wireless printing. I downloaded the hp print doctor and followed steps. It didn't work.

I printed the HP Network Configuration Page...I printed the Wirless Network test Result page..PASS PASS EXCELLENT, ETC.

On the homescreen of the printer...the wireless icon is blue

On the homescreen of the printer...there is a new icon to the left of the wireless icon...it reads: The printer cold not connect to the server. Check the internet connection. If required enter a proxy address; ensure the proxy details are correct and retry.

I went into settings on chrome and I am NOT using a proxy address.

Please help.  Thanks.

@SSDavis

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand the printer doesn't connect to the wireless network due to the message - "Printer offline",

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Have you used the HP Print and Scan Doctor to identify/resolve the issue?

Did you reset the print environment?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:

Step 1: Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

If you have Windows 10 or 8, download a special version of HP Printer and Scan Doctor that was made specifically for helping with printer offline problems. Skip to the next step if your computer does not have Windows 8 or 10.

  1. Download the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  2. Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.

  3. Once HP Print and Scan Doctor is open, click Start, and then choose your printer.

    • If your printer is not listed, turn it on and click Retry.
    • If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in the tool.
  4. Click Fix Printing.

  5. Click Test Print and wait for the test to fail.

  6. Click No Print, and restart the printer when prompted.

Step 6A: Test print will fail and you will see the following screen

Click the right arrow for further steps. Product and software versions are for illustration purpose only.

  7. If the printer continues to go offline, continue to the next step.

Step 2: Reset the print environment

Resetting the printer can help restore a connection to the computer.

  1. Turn the printer off, wait about 10 seconds, and then disconnect the printer power cord from the printer.

  2. Turn off the computer or device that you are trying to print from.

  3. Connect the printer power cord to the printer, and then turn on the printer if it does not automatically power on.

  4. If your printer uses a wireless connection, restart the router:

    1. Disconnect the power cord from your wireless router. Internet service will be interrupted while the router is not in service.

    2. Wait 10 seconds, and then reconnect the power cord to the router.

    3. Wait for the router’s network activity light to light.

    4. Press the wireless button or wireless control panel icon on the printer to turn the wireless connection off, and then on.

    5. Wait for the printer to reconnect to your router.

  5. Turn on the computer.

  6. Try to print.

    1. If you can print, you are done.

    2. If the printer cannot print and remains offline, continue to the next step.
