Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I have a project that requires decent audio recording ... so I have a Yamaha N12 that I spliced the stereo out to a 3.5mm beats pro mic cable...  You're right, I am a genius (other than grammar).... but now I cant find any options to increase bit-depth from 16 to 24.

 

Is the problem software or hardware?  Is there a solution to increase to 24? 

 

will it work if I use my 3.5 to usb adapter from my phone?  the specs for the adapter is 24-bit.  I'll have to buy a c to a adapter to try this or i would just find out
