Brilliant solution! Thanks so much for the hard work it took to fix it, and for generously sharing your work with us.  I tweaked the registry (after exporting a backup of the key, of course) and it worked as soon as I rebooted. That thing was driving me nuts, and getting in the way of editing my After Effects modules.

i literally just made an hp account just to thank you as your solution fixed my long lasted issues of delayed audio start, muting sound and stopping music causing games to stutter for 1-2secs and HDaudbus.sys having spiky DCP latency, thank you so much!
