EliteBook 850 G7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

There's 1 driver we cannot install (linked to the Realtek Audio) and it's visible as "BT Sideband device"

HWID: INTELAUDIO\CTLR_DEV_02C8&LINKTYPE_03&DEVTYPE_00&VEN_8086&DEV_AE30&SUBSYS_8724103C&REV_0001

Can someone please tell me what this is thing is doing? It seems from Intel and it came in this state after installing the Realtek drivers (from Windows catalog). We are running W10 1803 and there are no compatible drivers for this at HP so we took them from 1809. The only thing that wasn't installed was the audio and that we found at the windows catalog website.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try this...

I downloaded the previous version of the Realtek audio driver (sp104223) from the support page so I could give you the oldest one I could.

Then I used the free 7-Zip file utility to extract the driver exe file into a folder so I could explore all of the components of the driver.

I have found the driver for the device in question and also the cat and sys files.

So, I pulled them out of the whole driver file, zipped them up and attached them below.

I think these are the only 3 files needed to install that device, but I can't be 100% sure.

Download and unzip the file I attached to its folder.  Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

See if you can manually install the driver by going to the device manager, click on the BT Sideband device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.  Select the Browse my computer for drivers option and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.

Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.

If that doesn't work, then download the file number I referenced, use the free 7-zip file utility to extract the file into its folder.

Then try the same manual driver approach by browsing to the main driver folder created by 7-zip and see if it installs that way.

Hello Paul

Thanks for the files, I reinstall the machine and check with the files you've sent. I also installed 1809 on it to extract the used drivers and changed the version check in the inf and check that too.

I'll keep you posted 😉
