Thanks for the steps, but that did not solve the issue we are having with the HP EliteBook 820 G3 right out of the box.

 

Solution: Audio Device was turned off in the BIOS.  This machine was taken right out of the box and turned on.  Not sure why HP would have the audio device turned off by default in the BIOS, but it was.  Once we checked the box next to 'Audio Device' and restarted, we now have audio with no more error.

 

Just thought I would post in the event others have this same issue.
