hi.

Unexpectedly, I am experiencing the following problem with my Ezcap 218 Super USB cassette capture in this notebook and in my HP ENVY 17. The device did not need any driver. It was just plug and play.

When I connect the device into my laptop, there is no sound at all going into Audacity or into the Wavepad Sound Editor, so I cannot record or process any cassette tapes. This is quite strange, since until two days ago all such tasks were normally performed and I have not made any changes (at least, not knowingly).  I tried the 218 in my two HP laptops (both with Windows 10), and the same thing happens. Note that, when plugged, the device works, yet no sound is heard on both laptops.  Yesterday I tried reversing one of the notebooks to an earlier date, to no avail. I wrote to the capture manufacturer, to no avail as well. Furthermore, what puzzles me is that the cassette capture does not appear in Device manager (cannot tell if it ever appeared). Any clues or help will be very much appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hi @Massini

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for bringing this to our notice.

This looks like the cassette issue. Since it is not working on any of the HP systems, you could try updating the drivers of the system and the cassette. If the issue persists, please contact Ezcap 218 Super USB cassette support and they will be able to help you further.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
