Hi @SILTULA,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

After formatting and installing Windows 11on HP Spectre 13‑4107la, the loss of audio and touch functionality indicates that device-specific drivers and/or firmware (BIOS) are not properly loaded. Follow the steps below in order.

Step 1: Perform BIOS Recovery (Restore Firmware)

This ensures the system firmware is intact and the hardware is properly initialized.

  1. Turn OFF the notebook completely
  2. Press and hold:
    Windows key + B
  3. While holding, press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds, then release Power (keep holding Win + B)
  4. Continue holding until:
    • The screen turns ON
    • You may hear a series of beeps

👉 If successful, the HP BIOS Recovery screen appears and will automatically restore the BIOS

Allow the process to complete fully.

Step 2: Install HP Drivers Using HP Support Assistant

Since Windows 11 installs often miss HP-specific drivers:

  1. Connect to Wi‑Fi
  2. Download/install HP Support Assistant
  3. Open it → Click “Check for updates”
  4. Install all pending updates, especially:
    • Audio driver (Realtek / Bang & Olufsen)
    • Chipset driver
    • Touchscreen / HID driver
  5. Restart the notebook

👉 During install, you may notice the system refreshing devices. This is expected

Step 3: Check Device Manager for Missing Drivers

  1. Press Windows + X → Device Manager
  2. Look for:
    • Audio inputs and outputs
    • Human Interface Devices
    • Any items with a yellow warning icon

If missing:

  • Right‑click → Update driver
  • Or reinstall via HP Support Assistant again

👉 If “HID-compliant touchscreen” is missing, touch will not function

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
