After doing the most recent cumulative update for windows 11, my laptops audio has become tinny, muffled, and quiet, completely undecipherable no matter haw far up I turn the volume. Both the speakers, AND the headphone jack give the same result, the only way to get regular audio is to use bluetooth headphones.
Everything was fine the last time I used my laptop two days days before to watch some streaming services, and I've done a virus sweep using kaspersky, which turned up nothing.
I've tried updating every audio driver I have, and nothing has worked. I've tried to use the driver update system on here, but there's no option for windows 11 drivers for my model laptop, only window 10. I ran hp software that checked to see if my laptop is even compatible with windows 11, and it said everything was all good, and my laptop was indeed compatible.
Ive tried every trouble shooting option on my laptop, even downloaded MORE hp trouble shooting software, and everything says it should be working/everything is enabled.
Ive even tried reverting my drivers back, and nothing worked, so i updated back up to 'current'.
Ive tried every option i"ve found recommend online, and nothing has worked.

Hi @Rhinoferrum,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing audio issues with your HP Spectre X360 after a cumulative update. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem.
- Restart your laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can fix software-related issues, so start by restarting your HP Spectre X360 and see if the audio quality improves.
- Check audio settings: Ensure that the audio settings on your laptop are properly configured. Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Open Sound settings." Make sure the correct output device is selected and adjust the volume levels accordingly.
- Update audio drivers: Outdated or incompatible audio drivers can cause audio problems. Visit HP's official website and navigate to the support section for your laptop model. Look for the latest audio drivers specifically designed for your Spectre X360 and install them.
- Rollback the driver update: If the issue started after installing a driver update, you can try rolling back to the previous version. Open the Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select "Device Manager") and expand the "Sound, video, and game controllers" category. Right-click on your audio device and select "Properties." Go to the "Driver" tab and click on "Roll Back Driver" if available.
- Disable audio enhancements: Some audio enhancements or effects can interfere with the audio quality. To disable them, go to the Sound settings (as described in step 2), click on "Sound Control Panel" on the right side, select your audio device, and click on "Properties." In the Enhancements tab, check the "Disable all enhancements" box and click "OK."
- Perform a system restore: If the audio issues persist, you can try using the System Restore feature to revert your laptop back to a previous state when the audio was working correctly. Search for "System Restore" in the Windows search bar, open the tool, and follow the on-screen instructions to choose a restore point.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hello @Alden4
As previously stated in my post, I have already tried Restarting, checking my audio settings, updating AND rolling back my drivers, and I do not have the "enhancements" tab in my audio control panel.
When I go to properties after going to my sound control panel on my audio device, I have the tabs "General", "Levels", "Advanced", and "Spacial sound" and even upon further investigation of all of these tabs, none of them have any options for "enhanced sound". I am unaware if this is because I am using windows 11, or some other issue like a recent update removing this option, etc.
And lastly, I am unable to use the restore option to "go back", as it is "this option is no longer available for this pc", and have not previously set up a restore point.
