HP Notebook - 15-bs060wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I got the "audio device is not installed" message halfway through a netflix video yesterday. Since then, I've done two resets, done the device manager tips, ran troubleshooting, updated all possible drives, and when I downloaded the HP Audio drives, nothing happened. Finally found a tip to go straight to Realtek, but now I have a Realtek HD Audio SST which is of terrible quality and the option to mute speakers when headphones are plugged in is no longer there.

I've tried uninstalling and trying the HP drives (again) but still no fix to my issue. The files are in my downloads but the computer is not recognizing them as drives, disabled or otherwise. When I plug any of my headphones in, they're never recognized and the keyboard audio commands (f6-8 on my board) are sluggish at best, and the mute only works some of the time (and the light doesn't come on).

Should I just take this in, or is there a better fix I haven't found yet?

This thread had a quick and (so far) working fix to the SST issue. I even have my mute indicator on my keyboard working again.

@Desbo

The HP bsxxx machines use different driver but members reported they have to use HP cexxx driver to fix. Please try

Tried the .exe you provided and was on a different path before but then got an error message:

"Install Realtek HD audio driver failure

Error Code: -0001

No driver supported in this driver Package"

I deleted Audio Driver 6.0.1.8110Rev.A, per the site's device driver packages (did not delete6.0.1.8437 Rev.A, however), so I currently have no drivers installed. Is that what would cause that error message?
