The audio enhancements on HP Audio Controls is grayed out. The audio enhancement tab appears to be missing from my computer. This was the first time I checked for audio enhancements on this computer. So, I don't know if I ever had audio enhancements on this computer. I installed the latest update to the audio driver. I don't know if this is a Microsoft or an HP issue. How can I install this feature on my computer so that I can enable this feature in HP Audio Controls? Thanks.

Thank you for your response. Are you wanting the product number of my computer or the HP Audio Controls? My computer's product number is 1TJ81UA#ABA. I don't know if or where the number is for the HP Audio Controls.

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...
HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also ensure Windows is up to date.
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Keep me posted how it goes
Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

I understand your concerns.
Please uninstall the audio drivers and update the chipset drivers. Then restart the computer. Reinstall the audio drivers.
Also, update the BIOS.
Please click the below link to download the drivers.

I understand your concerns.
There may be an issue with drivers. Have you tried the previous post troubleshooting steps?
If the issue still persists, please perform the system reset.
Windows 10 has a reset feature that repairs your computer by reinstalling the operating system. This feature is recommended for recovery because it reinstalls Windows 10 while either preserving your personal data and customizations or removing all your personal data.
You have a choice of two methods to reset your computer.
-
If Windows 10 loads correctly, see the section titled Perform a Windows 10 system reset in Windows in this document.
-
If Windows 10 does not start correctly, see the section titled Perform a Windows 10 system reset through Windows Recovery Environment in this document.
Have a nice day!!

Last week, I updated the audio driver, restarted the computer, but the audio enhancements still were not installed. Outside of updating the drivers, I am very leary tampering with the audio driver. A while back, I installed an update from the HP assistant. After restarting my computer, the audio was gone. I needed to chat with a tech support on the HP assistant app just to restore the audio. Since chat support has now expired, I can't get immediate help if something happens to the audio.
Currently, the audio is fine. Outside of not having audio enhancements installed, my computer works and operates fine. It would be silly for me to reset my computer for the sake of installing audio enhancements. Also, there is no guarantee that this would resolve the problem anyway. So, unless there is a less intrusive way to install the audio enhancements, I would just leave well enough alone. It is strange however that audio enhancements are not already installed on my computer especially if my computer is compatible.
