Hi,
I have an issue with an external microphone & my laptop (HP Envy x360) that I would like help with please?
I connect this mic to my laptop using an adaptor via the headphone jack. However, when it is connected, my laptop does not register there is any other audio input apart from the laptops own internal microphone.
From what I have read on another Support chat, of someone with the same problem; they were told that sometimes (50/50 chance) that using a microphone splitter may work.
Another person stated that the audio input for this device is only recognised if the mic is part of a headset/earphones). I need a better microphone than this in order to pick up audio from very large lecture theatres.
Are there any other options I have not considered which I could try, or do you have any other possible solutions? I wondered whether a microphone which uses Bluetooth might be able to register on my laptop, and if I could get a microphone that did this & was sensitive enough for my needs, whether that would solve the problem?
Thanks so much for your help!

Hi @JadeB03,
I'd like to help.
What is the type of cable your using?
Have you tried connecting it to other devices?
