I have had the same issue as Audio-Issues-with-Speakers-for-HP-OMEN-Laptop-15-en0023dx/td-p/8554082 and I am testing the procedure listed but with an additional step:
My operative system is Windows 11 Home, version 23H2 compilation 22631.3085
My windows has all the updates available, even the optional ones.
-I updated the Bios to F.22 Rev.A ( December 11th 2023)
-I installed Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver 6.0.9159.1 Rev.C 40.1 MB Apr 23, 2021
-I checked the windows integrity as user UB6424 mentioned:
Open cmd.exe (right click) as administrator and execute:
sfc /scannow
msdt.exe /id WindowsUpdateDiagnostic
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Start Windows <device manager>
- Right click and uninstall devices with "attempt to remove driver" ticked!
- Restart Windows
-Use the HP Support Tool to check the audio and/or reinstall automatically the drivers.
The previous procedure only worked until the computer was rebooted.
Choose sound configuration, double click in Speakers (Realtek (R) Audio)
Click in General/ Realtek (R) Audio/ Properties
In Realtek (R) Audio Properties/ Controller click in revert to previous controller.
The next screenshots show the final configuration for the controller. The version is 10.0.22621.2506 from 19/10/2023
Restart
