I am also having a problem with the left headphone when plugged into the 3.5 jack. I hear cracking whenever sound is played, especially voice. I have tried several headphones.

This started happening after Windows update to 1809 and rolling back the driver to the Microsoft's stock one, because none of the Realtek's work for me (and HP support completely ignored my post about it here).

Before that, I didn't hear these cracks in the left earphone.

Any ideas or private messages?

Thank you for being a part of HP Forums.

I understand you need support, and I'll be glad to help you out. However, for an accurate solution I'll need more details:

1) Are you experiencing this issue with your HP Pavilion - 15-cw0007nm Notebook PC? If it is a different product, what is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824
(Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.)
2) Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?

In the meantime, please try the steps mentioned below -

Step 1 Run Audio troubleshooter -
1) In Windows, find and fix audio into Search, or right-click the speaker icon on the taskbar and select Troubleshoot sound problems.
2) Select Find and fix audio playback problems or Find and fix audio recording problems from the Search results.

Step 2 Re-install the Audio drivers -
1) In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
2) Double-click Sound, video and game controllers.
3) Right click on the Audio drivers and click on uninstall.
4) Restart the computer.

Download and install the following driver/ update for your computer -

Audio Driver - https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/HP-Pavilion-15-Notebook-PC-series/6936226...

BIOS Update - https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/HP-Pavilion-15-Notebook-PC-series/6936226...

Let me know how that pans out 🙂

Thank you for your effort!

Actually, yesterday Microsoft released a Cumulative Update for 1809 and it fixed the problem I had with the new Realtek divers. Now all works perfectly!

Cheers!
