I have the same issue. Started yesterday after a windows update. Tried to uninstall drivers and reinstall again, made every update possible. Even did a system reset, then audio worked, then this morning it wasn't working anymore, and can't do a reset anymore.

I just made it work. I went in to device manager, and uninstalled everything that had to do with audio.
(On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, I clicked the Delete the driver software for this device)
Then I went in to Uninstall programs and I uninstalled Realtech Audio Driver.
Restarded the computer and now the audio works.
I don't know if I had done something before this to make it work. But atleast the audio works.
But to be sure, if it doesn't work after all this. Try install this driver below, and it should probably work.

And also thanks to the persons that made me go this way for it to work.

I had the same problem, but I eventually sorted it thanks to this forum! I went to 'uninstall programs' in control panel and uninstalled the 'realtek high definition audio' program. You have to restart your PC in order for the uninstall to work. However, once restarted, your sound should be played via two different drivers; 'Speakers' and 'Headphones' , so even when you have headphones plugged in you can still play audio through the PC speakers!
Hope this helps!
