Flec - I/we don't know if its necessary to turn off Windows updates yet. I've only done it to stop any changes confusing the situation while I wait to be sure both of our laptops are now working. Then I plan to turn updates back on. I'll try and report back either way in a week.

Same here, I stopped windows updates only for a while ( 7 days pause) while I attempted a clean install (using the AMD clean up utility) of the 24th June driver suggested here .

I observed the behaviour of my system and it had not reported the crashing drivers for some time and then I re-enabled windows updates.

I have not had any further issues in over a month a now.

I have not tried the September drivers yet, but if someone else has had continued success with September drivers it would be good to know !

like I said, I ran the cleanup utility and then installed the september drivers. no problems for weeks and I didn't even turn off windows updates.

Just to confirm both of our laptops have been fine since updating as described above. One using Teams and one Zoom  on a daily basis. They both still have Windows update paused.

I faced the exact same issue. HP took it back for repair and they ended up replacing the SSD that DID NOT solve the problem whatsoever. Second tech support attempted to do similar driver uninstall/update but didn't work either. I have completely given up HP Tech Support, and I'm past my return period because Best Buy only had 14 days return policy now! (lesson learned, never buy a computer from Best Buy again!)

Now I'm trying the community help here, can someone help confirm if the driver version of the June AMD driver being 26.20.14052.0? I tried the steps to uninstall driver, ran AMD clean up, and ran June driver, but the driver date said 5/19/2020. Is that the correct one?

Update: Just found that 26.20.14052.0 was indeed the June update. Follow-up question: should I install the Sep driver as well?

Thank you.

Only install the september driver.

I've seen it suggested that the important thing is running the AMD Driver clean up utility and that if you do that either driver works. My sons have not reported a sound problem since we did that. They are still using the 24th June driver.  I'll probably upgrade them to the September driver when they come home at Christmas.

Heads up, windows update sent out a batch of AMD drivers. They caused the same problem as before. I used the AMD clean up utility and then let windows update the drivers again but the problem persisted. I then tried again and so far it hasn't happened again but we know the problem can lay dormant. So I'd recommend everyone to turn on the pause updates feature until we isolate which driver is the problem and use this utility to keep it from installing: Hide Windows Updates or driver updates (microsoft.com)

pls help where can I find June 24 version?

24th June

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp105501-106000/sp105744.exe

24th Sept

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp110001-110500/sp110226.exe

They hide them a bit. For the future go to the HP support site and enter your serial number and model number. For e that takes me to here..

https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-15-ee0000-x360-convertible-laptop-pc-series...

Then expand "Driver-Graphics (1)"

Click on " AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver" and it will expand again.

Scroll down to and click on "Previous version" and it will show the two versions I listed above.

Remember to run the AMD Driver Clean up tool before installing the new driver. The AMD utility runs in safe mode and performs a restart or two.
