I have been using my laptop for just over 2 years and I've been extremely pleased with it. But recently the audio of the laptop started acting up. When I play music or watch a video the audio will get quiet for a few seconds and then it will recover back to its original volume. It used to happen sometimes but it was very rare. But this past week it has started happening every few minutes, which has been driving me crazy. I ran a hardware check-up and checked for driver updates, but everything seemed to be fine and up to date. Mind you the audio works just fine when I plug in headphones or when I connect an external audio device. The problem occurs only when I use the integrated speakers.

Do you have any idea what the problem could be? I'd really appreciate help with this.
