I bought this new Hp laptop on Boxing day - when I started using - Microsoft was giving Updates every 2 days - then on the 6th January 2021 - after this update my audio sound Stopped - after googling and searching for a Fix - the only thing I could think of - was a Hp diagnostic & a System Restore.
Hp diagnostic said the Audio is working when it wasn't - also I tried deleting & re-installing the audio driver to No fix - finally the System restore let me re-install back to the 3rd January - Sound is Now working again - so what do I do - ???? I notice in windows 10 - Microsoft does Not give an Option to completely Stop Updates -  I know alot of people have had this problem
Also when I download the file - audio10.diagcab - from the Microsoft website - I .get the message - "An error occurred while troubleshooting " - why is this ???

I had the same problem, after going though all the diagnostics and troubleshooting on the Audio, it achieved nothing including uninstalling and reinstalling the RealTek Audio driver

So finally I went to the Control Panel \ Advanced Recovery Tools \ .... \Restore system files and settings I restored drivers from an earlier data point (3 days earlier).  This fixed the issue

Note.  I did another update of all the latest drivers and the problem reoccurred, so I had to do the restore again.  So I believe there is either a corrupt driver or incorrect driver in the latest updates

Do you think that it is a Microsoft problem ?? or a Hp problem ??   Im guessing its Microsoft windows 10 - that causes this problem - what do you think ??

I did the Microsoft Update and that was when the problem re-occurred, so I am assuming it was a driver distributed by the Microsoft Update

Also I red that the Most the updates STUFF up alot of other Peripherals such as Mouse , display - etc and they say when a predecessing  upate arrives it fixes the previous one that stuffed up One of those devices and its Not Only for HP pc's.

Best solution is Block all Updates Period - google it or I can send u the link on How !!!
