Audio is only coming from bottom speaker, not the top speakers

I can't figure out how to get the top speakers to work on this computer.

I do not understand well, this device has two speakers, which are the ones that do not work. ?

The speakers on both sides of the keyboard are not working.

You indicate that you have sound on the bottom speakers, those are the only speakers this laptop has,

What is the area next to the keyboard that looks like speakers then? I would never have bought a computer knowing the speaker is only on the bottom when it also appears there are speakers on top.

I think HP has two models with 4 speakers, what you have on the top of your laptop is part of the cooling system. Air circulation

I am rereading the specs, why is this design (model 16-ac0xxx) described as having the speaker type as Poly Studio with dual speakers, with the vent just under the screen?

see the service manual and then ask your questions. you can see that there are no 4 speakers
