Hi @sideflow1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with your Laptop audio port connection.
Follow the below steps to fix the issue.
First, try to check your headphones using other device for us to check if the issue is with the computer or the headphone itself.
If it does the same using a different device means that the headphone is faulty.
If it works using a different device proceed with the steps below.
-Go to Settings
-Click System
-Click Troubleshooter then Additional troubleshooter.
-Look for Playing Audio and run the troubleshooter.
-Go to Device Manager
-Expand the Sound and Video Game Controllers
-Look for Audio driver that was installed
-Right click and Update
-Look for "Browse my computer for driver
-Let me pick drivers available drivers
-Choose an old driver and use it.
Connect the headphone and proceed with these steps.
-Go to Control Panel
-In Control Panel, select Large icons from the View by drop down menu.
-Select Sound.
-Select the Playback tab
-Right click the headphone and click Enable.
-Right-click it again and select Set as Default Device.
-Right click headphone and click Properties.
-Click the Levels tab, then drag the volume slider towards the largest value.
-Click on Advance Tab
-Uncheck the box to "Allow Application to take exclusive controls on this device"
-Click OK.
Restart your computer and test the headphone audio.
