@Wick27, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you're experiencing issues with both Bluetooth and wired audio on your HP Pavilion g6, there are several steps you can take to try and resolve them:

1. Check Device Settings

  • Ensure that your Bluetooth is enabled and try re-pairing the Bluetooth earphones. Remove the device from the Bluetooth list and add it again.
  • Ensure that the wired headphones are properly connected to the audio jack.

2. Audio Output Settings

  • Right-click on the Sound icon in the taskbar, select "Open Sound settings" and check if the correct output device (Bluetooth or wired headphones) is selected.

3. Driver Update

  • You mentioned difficulty in finding drivers. Since HP might not have the audio drivers readily available for download, you can try the following:
    • Open "Device Manager" by right-clicking the Start button, and then click on "Device Manager."
    • Find "Sound, video and game controllers," right-click and select "Update driver."
    • Select "Search automatically for updated driver software."
    • Additionally, check for updates directly through "Windows Update" which might help to update missing or outdated drivers.

4. Run the Troubleshooter

  • Run the built-in audio troubleshooter for Windows:
    • Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot"
    • Select "Additional troubleshooters" and run "Playing Audio."

5. Reinstall Audio Driver

  • If updating drivers does not fix the issue, you can try reinstalling them:
    • In Device Manager, right-click the audio device and select "Uninstall device."
    • Restart your computer, and Windows should reinstall the audio drivers automatically.

6. HP Support Assistant

  • Use the HP Support Assistant software to identify and solve problems. It often comes pre-installed on HP devices and can help automatically find and install any drivers or updates. You can also download the latest version from the HP Support Assistant page if necessary.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
