Hi @Shane101,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already taken some troubleshooting steps, but let's explore a few more potential solutions.

Driver Rollback:

  • If the issue started after a driver update, try rolling back the audio driver to the previous version.
  • Go to "Device Manager," locate your audio device, right-click, and choose "Properties." In the "Driver" tab, you should find an option to roll back the driver.

Uninstall and Reinstall the Audio Driver:

  • Uninstall the audio driver completely from the "Device Manager."
  • After uninstallation, restart your laptop. Windows will automatically reinstall the driver. Check if the issue persists.

Check Audio Settings:

  • Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Open Sound settings."
  • Under "Output," make sure your speakers are selected and click on "Device properties."
  • Check if there are any enhancements enabled. Try disabling them to see if it resolves the issue.

Third-Party Audio Management Software:

  • Some laptops come with their audio management software. If you have such software for your HP Pavilion, check if there are settings conflicting with the system settings.

System Restore:

  • If the issue started recently, you can try restoring your system to a point where the audio settings were working correctly.

BIOS Update:

  • Ensure that your laptop's BIOS is up-to-date. Check the HP support website for the latest BIOS update for your model.

Remember to create a backup before making significant changes to your system, such as uninstalling drivers or performing a system restore.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
