Please assist, the internal speakers & microphone don't work & are not recognized under sound on my HP Omen 15 dh1060nr laptop & I'm asking for assistance fixing it .

Under Device Manager sound, video & game controller is the sole audio driver "High Definition Audio Device" (Microsoft 10.0.26.100.8036).

According to other posts, this laptop came with a pre-installed B&O audio console driver, & apparently, without it, my laptop will not recognize the internal speakers & microphone. I'm told that Realtec may have a suitable audio console that will fix it. Presumably, when I upgraded to Windows 11, the B&O audio console was replaced with the Microsoft Hign Def Audio Device driver.

I found & downloaded a B&O console driver, but it won't load saying "missing INF file". Thank you

Hi  @sbrittin,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how  it must be to lose audio functionality after upgrading your system. Let’s work through this together.

From what you’ve described:

Your internal speakers and microphone are not detected and Device Manager only shows the generic Microsoft High Definition Audio driver.

The Bang & Olufsen (B&O) audio console driver is missing or failing to install due to a missing INF file.

Here are few  steps you can try :

1.Verify Windows Updates

Go to Settings -Windows Update -Advanced options -Optional updates

Install any available driver updates

Restart your laptop after installation

2.Check HP Support Drivers

HP provides the official Realtek audio drivers for your exact model.

Visit https://support.hp.com/  - Drivers & Software  -Enter your model (Omen 15-dh1060nr)

Download the Realtek High Definition Audio driver

Install and restart

This should also restore the B&O Audio Console

3.Check Bang & Olufsen App

The B&O Audio Console is a companion app that may need reinstalling.

Open Microsoft Store - Search Bang & Olufsen Audio Control

Install or update the app

Launch it to confirm speakers and mic are recognized

I hope this helps.

Hi @sbrittin,

To proceed with diagnosing why your internal speakers and microphone aren’t recognized, Could you kindly share the serial number of your HP Omen 15-dh1060nr laptop via private message to check on the detail.

I tried to resolve this by deleting the Realtec driver from device manager & restarting my pc. It reloaded the Realtec high definition driver, but my internal speakers & microphone did not work. I updated all windows drivers, this didn’t work. I checked for hp driver updates, but there were non. FYI, HP only lists windows 10 drivers, for my pc, but it is now running windows 11.
