hp probook 470 g5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Suddenly speaker icon shows white x on red background .

Audio is not working.  I have reinstalled audio drivers with no luck to get audio working.

I have tried sound troubleshooter in HP Support Assistant with no luck.

It seems like audio hardware is not being recognised.

Any help in resolving issue would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Please do a clean install Audio softeware/driver, this should help.

(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,

        https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp95001-95500/sp95015.exe

(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.

Regards.

Have managed to get speaker to work by doing a 'reset pc' in windows 10. and reinstalling all programs.

I have today turned on HP Laptop and found I have same issue.

I have tried HP diagnostics which is done via bios and speaker is working so issue must be with windows 10.

Any Ideas how to resolve issue?
