The audio on my laptop has suddenly stopped working. Here is what is going on.
- When audion is attempted to be used (youtube video) the sound goes in and out
- At the same time, the sound icon in the bottom right will change the volume level on its own and will change between mute and volume
- Sometimes a red circle with a white 'x' will appear on the sound icon in the bottom left
- When the problem first showed up I would get a blue screen error saying internal power error. The stop code was INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR
- the computer works fine as long as the audio isn't used
Here is what I have tried to do to fix the problem:
- updated some drivers
- made sure all windows updates were complete
- rollback some software that was recently installed
None of these made a difference, assuming I did them correctly.
Thanks for any help and advice.
