Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My audio isn’t working on my envy 17 4700MQ and I’m unsure why. It’s coming out of the bottom but on the actual beats speaker nothing is coming out of it. I just bought it second hand and everything else is great except from that. I’ve tried going to the settings and changing it but the only option available is the bottom speakers

See if installing this W10 IDT audio driver from a newer model notebook and restarting the PC, gets the sound to work again.

IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver

6.10.6492.0

Note:  On some PC's such as mine (HP 350 G1 notebook), after I installed the driver, I had no sound at all and that is because the driver set the PC headphones as the default audio device instead of the speakers.

So, I just had to go to the Windows control panel>hardware and sound>sound>manage audio devices and change the default audio output to the PC speakers and the sound worked great again like it did on Windows 7 & 8.1.

Wow, it turns out that the sp71886 has Dolby Home Theater v4 and also SRS from .dll files. Now SRS technology has been completely taken over by DTS.
