Probook 4530s
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi,

after reinstalling windows 7 on Probook 4503s i had several problems with drivers which i could manage.

But even after installing the audio drivers i do not get any sound out of the headphones that i connect to the computer.

Computer speakers work fine and shut off when i plug in the headphones. (Volume bar does not show any headphones connected)

In my latest working windows version i did upload the driver and the audio was working sometimes when i switched on the computer, which was totally annoying if you really want to do some projects...

Now after the last reinstall i cannot make it working at all.

I have tried troubleshooting ( does that ever work? ) with respond that everything is working...

I do run also linux on my computer, where the audio output does not have any problems and is working perfectly, so the hardware is ok.

I will be glad for any help.

Thankx

This is a known issue with the IDT audio. What is the device manager showing for the audio driver?

You should uninstall whatever there is and force the system to install the latest IDT driver, :

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59291.exe

But first make sure you have the latest chipset driver, too:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52001-52500/sp52145.exe

Also go into BIOS and make sure both external and onboard audio devices are enabled.
