Like many people I am having audio problems on my HP Envy 17-j130ea (Beats Edition) since it has upgraded to Windows 10, 1703 (Creators Edition)
Since it has updated the volumes on the internal speakers are extremely low - yet, strangely, the volume through the headphones or external speakers is fine.
Checking the device drivers tells me that Windows has the best driver installed (High Definition Audio Device).
I have checked all the various configuration options suggested in various places, but none have solved the problem.
HP Support Assistant finds no updated drivers for it.
Checking on the product page for my HP Envy - the latest driver listed for the IDT Hight-Definition (HD) Audio Driver is 6.10.6491.0 Rev. Sept 30, 2013. This is quite old so I am reluctant to try it - unless anyone has done so and achieved success with it.
Any suggestions?

Thank you for that - it worked.
The file referenced in Option 2 of the linked post turned out to be the same as the 2013 audio driver file on my product page that I had initially been reluctant to try - so I decided to go for it.
