Hi, Iv been upgraded to windows 11 for some time now i cannot use my laptop speakers at all due to them crackling at random times.
iv tried using the software and drivers page and although it detects my laptop, there is no windows 11 option. iv tried everything from checking on device manager for updated drivers and been on the realtek page but im absolutely stumped.
The driver currently installed on my device is Realtek 6.0.8950.1 from 12/05/2020 (dont know if thats a us or uk date but im in the uk)
the version of windows im using is windows 11 home 10.0.22621 build 22621 processor amd ryzen 7 3700u if any of that is useful.
Thank you in advance

Hi @tommywf01,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing audio crackling issues through the speakers of your HP Pavilion - 15 laptop after updating to Windows 11, there are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
- Restart your laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can fix temporary software glitches that may be causing audio issues.
- Check for driver updates: Visit the official HP website and navigate to the support section. Look for the latest audio driver for your specific model and download it. Install the driver update and restart your laptop to see if the issue is resolved.
- Roll back the audio driver: If the crackling issue started after updating the audio driver, you can try rolling back to the previous version. Go to Device Manager (you can search for it in the Windows search bar) and expand the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section. Right-click on your audio device and select "Properties." In the Properties window, go to the "Driver" tab and click on "Roll Back Driver" if it's available. Follow the on-screen instructions and restart your laptop.
- Disable audio enhancements: Sometimes, audio enhancements can conflict with the system and cause crackling issues. To disable them, right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Open Sound settings." Under the "Sound Control Panel" section, select your audio device and click on "Properties." In the Properties window, go to the "Enhancements" tab and check the box that says "Disable all enhancements." Click "Apply" and then "OK."
- Adjust audio settings: Open the Sound settings as mentioned in the previous step. Under the "Output" section, select your audio device and click on "Device properties." In the Device Properties window, go to the "Advanced" tab and try changing the default format to a different sample rate and bit depth. Test different settings to see if any of them resolve the crackling issue.
- Check for Windows updates: Microsoft regularly releases updates that include bug fixes and improvements. Make sure your Windows 11 installation is up to date by going to Settings > Windows Update and checking for any available updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Surely someone at hp knows how to resolve this as going through your forums there are many posts about the exact same thing. Users are unable to use their speakers as the crackling issue is affecting every hp computer.
Thank you for the link, il keep trying it today because all i am getting so far is 'Sorry, we are unable to determine if there are any support agent options for your location at this time. You can use other resources below or please try again later.'
