UPDATE: is it normal that voice recorder filters out other sound playing? Only my voice can be heard, audio playing on the phone is silent when I record it

 

When using voice recorder or video, the audio either is silent or soft and crackled. Other audio playback is OK. I've tried restarting, checking for updates, doing microphone/audio diagnostic tests on HP Support Assistant (during one test, the whole screen went static for around one minute) but no issue was detected. 

 

I have just tried the Audio Driver Update test, but it was stuck at in progress for a long time.

 

Hopefully someone can advise of any other steps to take since this laptop is very new. Thank you 🙂

Hi guys I'm not sure how to delete a previous post but I solved it haha apparently I was using bang and olufsen audio, which had a noise cancelling option switched on.
