Hey I have a problem with my audio where shortly after I connect my wireless headpones (matter of seconds) the audio just completely stops. I have tried updating everything I could find on the support but I am not sure if it is the headphones or the bluetooth. I do believe it is the bluetooth because I found some newer drivers but my PC wont let my update to that version for some reason. If you have some advice I am down to try anything because it is annoying to work without sound. Also sometimes it just disconnects my headphones for no reason

Hi @Wilysh,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that Audio stops working after connecting to bluetooth. Here are the best next steps to try on your HP PC:

Reinstall the original hardware driver using HP Recovery Manager

  • Open Start > All Programs > PC Help & Tools > Recovery Manager

  • Go to Advanced Options

  • Choose Hardware Driver Reinstallation

  • Look for your audio/sound driver and reinstall it

  • Restart the PC after installation

This is recommended when the sound suddenly stops or updates have caused driver issues.

Check for drivers from HP Support

  • Go to Official HP® Support

  • Search using your exact PC model number

  • Select your correct operating system

  • Look for audio drivers and any related driver updates available for your system

Use HP Update or Windows Update

  • HP Update can automatically find software and drivers available for your HP PC

  • Windows Update can also check for updated device drivers and system fixes

Use Device Manager to update the device

  • In Windows, open Device Manager

  • Find the relevant device and choose Update driver software

  • Let Windows search automatically

If the issue started after a recent change, try Microsoft System Restore

  • HP recommends trying Microsoft System Restore first because it is the least invasive

  • It can return your PC to a time when audio was working without deleting your personal data

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
