HP EliteBook X G1i 14 inch Notebook Next Gen AI PC (A7JL0AV)

Hello HP Support Community,

I've only had my HP EliteBook X G1i 14 Zoll for a few days, and although I'm generally very happy with the device, there is one thing that bothers me: When listening to audio, you can clearly hear background noise, especially at low volumes. This is particularly noticeable when someone is speaking. As soon as there is no more sound output, the background noise disappears immediately, as it does when the volume is reduced to zero. I think the best way to describe it is that it sounds as if the spoken words are being quietly repeated or echoing. Only at a volume of around 50 percent or higher is the effect less noticeable.

Windows and drivers are up to date. I also tried removing the drivers, downloading the latest version, and then reinstalling them. The problem remains. Disabling the audio enhancements in Windows has no effect either. I also turned off the microphone. Today, I even performed a repair installation of Windows. That didn't change the problem either.

Is this perhaps a known issue?

Best regards

Gerhard
