Hi @DJB50

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how disappointing it feels when your Bang & Olufsen speakers suddenly stop working, especially when you expect rich sound from your laptop.

You’ve already noticed the issue, so let’s go through clear steps to bring the audio back.

Step‑by‑step actions

1. Check sound output device

  • Right‑click the speaker icon in the taskbar.
  • Select Sound settings.
  • Under Choose where to play sound, make sure “Speakers (Bang & Olufsen)” is selected.

2. Run audio test in HP App

  • Open the HP App on your Windows 11 PC.
  • Select your device, then go to Support > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Run the audio test to automatically detect and repair sound issues.

3. Update audio drivers

4. Check Bang & Olufsen audio control

  • Open the Bang & Olufsen Audio Control software from the Start menu.
  • Ensure the speakers are not muted and audio enhancements are enabled.
  • Adjust balance and equalizer settings to confirm sound output.

5. Run Windows audio troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Run the Playing Audio troubleshooter.
  • Follow the guided steps to resolve detected issues.

6. Test with headphones

  • Plug in a wired headset or connect Bluetooth headphones.
  • If sound works there, the issue is isolated to the internal speakers.

By confirming the output device, running the HP App Diagnose & Fix, updating audio drivers, and checking Bang & Olufsen audio settings, you can restore sound. Testing with headphones helps confirm whether the speakers themselves are affected.
