Hi, I just got my Hp Envy 15 3040nr and was wondering what EQ settings would be the best for this beats laptop, because the hz for the Graphics Equalizer is kind of different from the hz you have for the dv7, so i was wondering if it was okay to use your settings or should i tweak it myself?

The best way to check if your still using Beats audio is to play a song, open up the beats audio control panel, and look under equalization. if you see the bars moving as the music plays then your still using beats audio. IDT is a driver that's responsible for anything music related on your laptop. even beats audio uses IDT software/ driver, so theres really no way to get around using IDT. Your beats audio should always be taking center stage, that is unless you delete it.

I am having an insane problem. Bought my laptop ( dv6-6136tx ) almost 3 months ago. Now when i boguht True 5.1 Headphones, i can not find any 5.1 channel config. anywhere. Beats audio is limiting the interface. I know i can not change mic input to speakers unless this bloody beats audio allows it. There must be a way to enable all three jacks to use as 5.1 channel. Please someone help. I can not return these headphones. They cost me much and i am finding a solution. Why HP will do such a stupid thing like this why!!!!!!!

OK, let's see if any kind soul can help me:
I have Beats Audio on my HP DV7, and I've read the thread and messed around with the panel but I can't seem to get the best sound without sacrificing bass. I'm using Audioengine A2s for my speakers, the panel as it is set up currently is as follows:
31Hz (3) 62Hz (2) 125Hz (0) 250Hz (0) 500Hz (2) 1kHz (3) 2kHz (4) 6kHz (4) 10kHz (5)
The only thing on the left panel I changed is the bass, which I moved up from 20 to 30.
I'm using MediaMonkey for my music and listen to pretty much every genre of music except heavy metal.
Any suggestions?
By the way, what is Beats Active NR?

See my post ... If U want bass, then uninstall the audio driver/codec, and install an earlier version of it that does NOT contain Beats Audio. Beats Audio is designed to allow a "flat" response: which is basically NOT allowing hi or low frequencies.
I have an Omni 220qd .... I kept playing a bass heavy song (Rack City), & realizing I was NOT hearing any of the powerful bass inherent in the song. I played the exact same song on 2 other computers WITHOUT Beats Audio, and 2 different mp3 players, using the SAME SPEAKERS, and HEARD THE BASS & EVERY OTHER FREQUENCY in the song. So I uninstalled the audio driver/codec (the Beats Audio is contained in it), and installed a much earlier version of the audio driver/codec that does NOT contain Beats Audio, & voila: IMMEDIATELY heard BASS, TREBLE, & EVERY frequency.
I have also tested a Beats Audio in-ear headphone, and it does NOT allow hi or low frequencies to be heard.
Test it out for yourself .... play your favorite songs from your laptop that has Beats Audio set to highest of hi frequencies, & low on the lowest ... then play them on a device without Beats Audio, so you can prove for yourself.. You can see that it's a VERY SIMPLE test.
