HP Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

There is an annoying beeping noise coming through my speakers when I scroll using the touch pad. The page / mouse might lag a little like I'm doing too many things at once (which I'm not) and it's trying to catch up but the beeps are so annoying and I don't know why it's doing it. It comes through my headphones too so definitely coming through my speakers.

It doesn't do it when I use the side scroll thing just when I scroll with the touch pad - which is pretty much all the time.

I've had a look online but can't find anything that matches so far and I'm don't want to start messing with things I don't really understand.

And ideas?

Thanks

Could you describe what the beeps sound like? Are they short beeps or long beeps? Usually if a PC beeps, it means there's a hardware failure.

Yeah I think it's a motherboard issue. Can you please specify the model beyond "HP Notebook"?

Motherboard issue eh? Didn't know just knew there was some hardware failure of some sort. lol..

Thanks for getting back to me. They are short beeps. Quite hard to describe pitch but I'd say lowish pitch, not high-pitched anyway. What do I do about hardware failure? I've not had it a year yet!

Thanks for the reply. I think the model is 14-am077na

Sorry, I don't know what it was. I got help on the web chat and I had to recover my computer in the end as nothing else worked. It seems fine now, just a bit of a long process to get there!
