@HP please help with this issue, as it renders my brand new 13.3" spectre (that I paid $1500 for) useless.

I have tried 3 different types of Bluetooth headphones. My Sennheiser PCX550, Bose sport, and another no brand name...they all pair, but the sound does not come through...the sound keeps playing on the machine. I have tried updating drivers, looked at every audio option which I could manipulate. and still nothing. Please help, I need to be able to use my headphones.

@1sys,

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are unable to get sound from the Bluetooth headphones.

I recommend you click on the sound icon on the bottom right side of the screen and click on the up arrow and it will show you all the available sound output options. From the list I recommend you select your Bluetooth headphone and check.

If you continue facing the issue, then run the audio troubleshooter following the below steps.

  - Launch Troubleshooting by typing and clicking “Troubleshooting” in

     Windows search.

  - Click on "Playing Audio".

  - Follow the on-screen instructions.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thank you very much for replying with suggestions. However, I had tried all of that, and tried again, and again, and again, and still nothing. The arrow you are mentioning, where I can click on that and change the output source to Bluetooth, it is missing...I went to "device manager", my headphones do appear under Bluetooth as PXC 550, they are paired, however, I see no option ANYWHERE that I could tell the PC to use the bluetooth as an output for the sound....I have done this with my other computers, easily, Normally you would see that arrow for additional info next to where it says "Speaker (Realtek Audion)" but not this time.???? Please help as I need this option badly, otherwise, I might have to return the PC.

@1sys,

I recommend you uninstall the Bluetooth driver from the device manager and then download and install it from the below link.

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

Here is how it is done.

  1. Type "Device Manager" into the search field to open the device manager console.
  2. Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
  3. On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
  4. When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.

NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.

If this helps, please mark the public post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others and please give the same public post a Kudos for my efforts to help.
Take care and have a blessed week ahead.

Thank you for the suggestion...however, still, it is not working. Also, after spending $1500 people should not have to go through all of this work just to get their BT to work, which is unacceptable. I am a tech person, I did everything suggested, even before it was suggested, still nothing. I think

I ran the troubleshooter, and this time I received this message:  Check Bluetooth radio status. FIXED. But, still no option to output audio through BT instead of just the speakers...this is very very bad by HP. I did not get a lousy $100 Chromebook, I purchased a $1500 laptop and BT does not work?????

@1sys,

I recommend you perform a reset on the computer following the steps in the below article and check if it helps.
