HP Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi I have an

HP Notebook - 15-ay010ca (ENERGY STAR) 64bit with windows 10 home version 1809.

Everytime I try to connect my Powerbeats3 it doesnt even see it or any other devices I Ttried to connect with my laptops bluetooth. When I go in the option from settings tab theres no on or off button just one to scan for devices and as soon has I press the Add a device, Bluetooth it says Couldnt connect.
I looked on the web for solutions and went to the Device manager section to uninstall and reinstall a new driver but it isn't even there. When I tried troubleshooting my bluetooth it said Bluetooth is not available on this device. please try using an external adapter...

I don't know what to do Ever since I had this laptop bluetooth never worked with my Iphone.
Can anyone please help make my bluetooth work!

Hi:

The reason you can't connect to any Bluetooth devices is because your PC does not have the required Bluetooth hardware necessary for Bluetooth connections.

Below is the link to the product specs page for your PC.

https://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c05214722

If it had Bluetooth, that feature would have been listed along with the 802.11b/g/n (1x1) wireless connectivity specification.

Your PC has the Realtek 8188EE wifi adapter, which is not a combination wifi/Bluetooth adapter.

So in shirt my laptop doesnt have an existing Bluetooth device therefore I cant ever get it?

That is correct.

You have two options...

1. You can upgrade the internal wifi card to this model...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1×1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported)
HP Part # L17365-005

HP has this card on backorder for ages now, but you can find the card on eBay.

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=L17365-005&_sacat=0&_sop=1

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.

2. You can purchase an external USB wifi adapter.

I use this one for example...
