HP Pavilion - 15-cs3001nt

Hello. I have 2 problems. The major one is, my Galaxy Bud Pros seem OK when I don't need sound. But when I need sound, they are simply removed from output audio list and the sound comes only through laptop itself. I tried so many things but couldn't solve it. And also my mute button works but has lost its light.

If you can help me, it will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi @OrkanK,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're facing two separate issues with your HP Pavilion laptop: one related to the audio output and your Galaxy Bud Pros, and the other concerning the mute button light. Let's address each problem separately.

Issue 1: Galaxy Bud Pros not staying in the audio output list

Solution Steps:

Check Bluetooth Connection:

  • Ensure that your Galaxy Bud Pros are properly connected to your laptop via Bluetooth. Go to your laptop's Bluetooth settings and make sure the earbuds are paired and connected.

Audio Output Settings:

  • Right-click on the volume icon in the taskbar and select "Open Sound settings."
  • Under the "Output" section, check if your Galaxy Bud Pros are listed. If not, try reconnecting them and see if they appear.

Default Playback Device:

  • In the "Sound settings," make sure your Galaxy Bud Pros are set as the default playback device. Right-click on them and select "Set as Default Device."

Bluetooth Driver Update:

  • Ensure that your laptop's Bluetooth drivers are up to date. Visit the HP support website, enter your laptop model, and download the latest Bluetooth drivers if available.

Restart Bluetooth Services:

  • Press Win + X and select "Device Manager."
  • Locate the Bluetooth devices, right-click, and choose "Disable," then right-click again and choose "Enable."

Re-pair the Galaxy Bud Pros:

  • Unpair your Galaxy Bud Pros from your laptop and then pair them again.

Issue 2: Mute button light not working

Solution Steps:

Driver Update:

  • Ensure that your laptop's audio drivers are up to date. Visit the HP support website, enter your laptop model, and download the latest audio drivers.

BIOS Update:

  • Check if there's a BIOS update available for your laptop on the HP support website. Sometimes, firmware updates can address hardware-related issues.

Check Power Settings:

  • Some laptops may have power-saving features that affect LED lights. Check your power settings to ensure they are not causing the mute button light issue.

Fn Key Functionality:

  • Make sure that the function key (Fn) associated with the mute button is working correctly. Try using other function keys to see if they are responsive.

Hardware Check:

  • If the issue persists, there might be a hardware problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
