I have a set of bluetooth headphone that have connected to my laptop.   They play system sounds, however there is no sound from any music apps I use like YouTube, Prime, even local music does not give any sound.   Try the troubleshooter but that just says there is not a problem...  I should also point out, I have successfully connected the headset to my Dell Laptop, so this is clearly an HP issue.

Hi @gemjack

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you. Let us try these steps:

Have you tried using other headphones and check if the issue persists?

Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

  1. Uncheck “Handsfree Telephony” from the “Services” setting on your Bluetooth device → “Control Panel” → “Hardware and Sound” → “Devices and Printers”.  Select your device and right-click, open “Properties”, then go to the “Services” tab and uncheck “Handsfree Telephony”.

  2. Mark it as your default device in “Control Panel” → “Hardware and Sound” → “Change system sounds” → “Playback”.  (It may be good enough to go to “Control Panel” → “Hardware and Sound” → “Sound”.)  Select your Bluetooth device and select set defaults.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
