HP Chromebook 15.6 inch 15a-nb0000 (793Y9AV)

Chromebook bluetooth was working with Bose SoundLink Mini.

Chromebook Bluetooth is still paired but no audio

iPhone works fine to Bose SoundLink mini so the problem is on the chromebook

I have done all the obvious things, tangle blue tooth off and back on, forget SoundLink and repair, checked volume on both devices.  This must be a chromebook setting I am not aware of.

Hi @DavidSal1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you

It sounds like you're having a frustrating issue with your Chromebook's Bluetooth audio. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot.

Check Bluetooth Audio Output Settings:

  • Click on the time in the lower-right corner of the screen to open the system menu.
  • Click the Bluetooth icon to see the list of paired devices.
  • Make sure that the Bose SoundLink Mini is selected as the audio output device.

Verify Sound Settings:

  • Open the Chrome settings by clicking the three dots in the upper-right corner and selecting "Settings."
  • Go to "Advanced" and then "Privacy and Security."
  • Click on "Site Settings" and check if there are any settings that might affect audio playback.

Restart Your Chromebook:

  • Sometimes a simple restart can fix Bluetooth issues.

Update Chromebook:

  • Make sure your Chromebook is up-to-date. Go to Settings > About Chrome OS > Check for updates.

Reset Bluetooth Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn it off. Wait a few seconds and then turn it back on.
  • Remove the Bose SoundLink Mini from the list of paired devices and re-pair it.

Clear Bluetooth Cache:

  • Open the Chrome browser and type chrome://settings/ in the address bar.
  • Scroll down and click on "Advanced."
  • Under "Reset and clean up," click "Clean up computer" and then "Find and remove harmful software."

Check for Interference:

  • Ensure there are no other Bluetooth devices or signals interfering with the connection.

Factory Reset Chromebook:

  • As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset. Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset settings > Powerwash. Note that this will erase all local data, so make sure to back up anything important.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
