Hi,
You can try performing HP diagnostics at boot and see if the Hard Drive is still good.
Turn off the PC by holding the power button
Turn on the PC and repeatedly keep hitting the ESC key until startup menu appears
Press F2 to enter diagnostics
Perform the system test or at least the Hard Drive test
See if there are any failure codes.
Most likely you will need to replace the Hard Drive with a 2.5" SATA3 drive and reinstall the OS.
On page 58 of service manual you can see the steps to replace the drive
