After upgrading from Win 10 to Win 11, the built-in BANG & OLUFSEN (B&O) speakers on my Spectre x360 are not recognised by the system. The speaker icon on the bottom left of the screen shows a "x" sign. I have already upgraded to the latest bios and also run the Troubleshooting Sound Problems, but I am still unable to resolve the code 10 error. It seems that the problem exists with the built-in B&O Speaker ONLY. When I connect a pair of wired headphones to the notebook, the "x" sign that appears on the speaker icon vanishes, and I can hear sounds through the headphones. Is there a solution to solve this problem. Thanks.

Hi @HSFCHEUNG,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A "Code 10" error in Windows Device Manager typically indicates that there is a problem with the driver or hardware for a particular device. In your case, it's related to the built-in BANG & OLUFSEN speakers on your Spectre x360 laptop. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve this issue.
Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix driver-related issues. So, start by restarting your computer.
Check the Volume and Mute Settings: Make sure that your speakers are not muted and that the volume is turned up.
Update Audio Drivers:
- Go to the HP website (or your laptop manufacturer's website) and find the latest audio drivers for your Spectre x360 model.
- Download and install the latest audio drivers.
Uninstall and Reinstall Audio Drivers:
- Right-click on the "Start" button and select "Device Manager."
- Locate the "Sound, video and game controllers" section and expand it.
- Right-click on your audio device (it might be labeled as BANG & OLUFSEN speakers or something similar), and select "Uninstall device."
- After uninstalling, restart your computer, and Windows should automatically reinstall the audio drivers.
Run Windows Troubleshooter:
- Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot."
- Find and run the "Playing Audio" troubleshooter.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Sometimes, Windows updates can include fixes for driver issues. Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date.
System Restore: If the issue started recently and none of the above steps have worked, you can try performing a system restore to a point when the speakers were working correctly. This will revert your system files and settings to an earlier state.
Check for Hardware Issues:
- If the problem persists, it's possible that there's a hardware issue with the speakers.
Reinstall Windows: As a last resort, you can consider reinstalling Windows to rule out any software-related issues. Make sure to back up your important data before doing this.
Remember to create backups and be cautious when making any significant changes to your system.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
