Hello,

 

I have a 840 G5 laptop that I have having issues with.  What my issue is the microphone on the device will not pick up voices but will detect other sounds such as a door closing or tapping on the laptop.  When I check device manager it is showing up and says it is working correctly.  I also ran the HP Support Assistant and ran the audio troubleshooting software it says that everything is working fine.

 

Here are some other things I have tried in order to fix the problem

- Updated all available drivers from HP website

- Replaced motherboard 

- Replaced Built in webcam

-Changed multiple settings in sound options

 

My last though is the cables running into the webcam but I wanted to see if any one had any other ideas on what else it might be.
