Recently bought an HP Omen Gaming Laptop. Everything is going well; however, one issue I am having right now is that it seems like the built in speaker and audio jack are on the same audio device. As in, when I mute my built in speakers and plug in my headphones, my headphone's sound is muted, and I have to manually unmute every single time I plug it in. I was wondering if there is a way to fix this, as I did not have this issue on my original laptop.

No, external speakers such as headphone use different devices. Probable you need driver for your headphone and you need to turn it ON .

You can use Sound Settings from Speaker icon to select and / or add new output devices

Hey thanks for the reply. When I have my headphones plugged in, the system already identifies the device so I didn't need to add a new output device. In addition, all the changes I were doing were in the Sound Settings, and I tried muting only the system speaker and keeping the headphones on. However, when I unplug the headphones and plug them back in, the headphones are automatically on mute, in line with what the speakers are. As for the drivers, I'm unsure because this worked perfectly fine on my old HP Pavilion, so I assumed it was going to be the same on my current laptop.
