Hey guys would really appreciate your help.
I bought a HP laptop which started to make buzzing sounds when playing audio from iTunes and YouTube as well or from the laptop file.
I hp-15-n003TX and it makes a buzz sound while playing any audio or video, it pause for the moment it makes the sound. It happens on both my speakers and headphones.
Any help will be much appreciated because this has happened on two brand new HP laptops so I'm sure this is happening to other people as well.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.
I understand that you have an HP Pavilion 15-n003tx Notebook. I read that there is a buzzing sound coming from the speakers and also the headphones.
Is this happening since the beginning or did this issue start recently?
I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Power off the laptop.
- Remove the battery out. If the battery is integrated and does not have a latch to release it then leave the battery inside the laptop.
- Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.
- Power ON the laptop.
Please initiate a hardware test on the audio. The following steps will help:
-
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
-
Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second.
-
The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu is displayed.
- Select component tests.
- Please initiate a test on the Audio - The Audio Playback Test checks your system to make sure the audio device is functioning properly. During the test, a few music notes are played in sequence and then repeated. This test takes 1 minute to complete. Click Audio, then click Run once. Choose either the speakers or the headphones. When asked, enter the number of notes you heard.
If the buzzing noise appears during the test then it indicates towards a hardware issue and you may have to contact our HP phone support to check the available repair options. However, if the hardware test passes on the audio then I suggest you to follow the steps from the HP audio troubleshooter guide that helps in fixing such sound issues.
I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Keep me posted. Good luck! 🙂

Hey, i have followed your 1st procedure, but no luck. After that i tried to follow your second procedure, but i could not get the same options as shown in your procedure.
Note- In your shown procedure i can see that the BIOS version is shown as someting like 6.1. somethong, but in my laptop the BIOS version is shown as something like 1.1 and something something. Is it something to do with it?

You're welcome. 🙂
I suggest you update the hardware diagnostics menu on your laptop. Once this is updated, please restart the laptop once and then try running the test again.
Good luck!

You're welcome. I truly appreciate your efforts and patience.
Glad to know that the audio test passed. I suggest you to run the hard drive and the memory tests too if the laptop's performance is slow and is freezing.
If all the tests pass then please perform a Windows refresh (repair). This should not delete your personal data. The Windows refresh should fix any corruption in the WIndows operating system and drivers.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
