Hello.
I have format my Laptop yesterday and install Windows 11 24h2(I have used same version before formatting). But Audio driver uploaded on driver support page is not working for 24h2. So I install 22h2 and update to 24h2.
Is there any solution for install driver on 24h2 without update from 22h2? It takes long time to update from 22h2.

Hi @getfeus,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
If the Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio driver (6.0.8757.1 Rev.C) from the support page is not working directly on Windows 11 24H2, here are some steps to resolve the issue and install the driver without needing to downgrade to 22H2 and then update:
1. Check Compatibility
- Confirm the driver version (6.0.8757.1 Rev.C) is compatible with your specific laptop model and the 24H2 build of Windows 11.
- Double-check the driver release notes on the HP support page to ensure it supports your system's configuration.
2. Use HP Support Assistant
- Install and run the HP Support Assistant to detect and install the correct driver automatically.
- Download from: HP Support Assistant
3. Install in Compatibility Mode
If the driver setup fails directly, try installing it in compatibility mode:
- Download the Driver:
- Download the driver package (6.0.8757.1 Rev.C) from your laptop's support page.
- Extract the Installer:
- Right-click the driver package and extract it using tools like WinRAR or 7-Zip.
- Set Compatibility Mode:
- Locate the setup.exe file in the extracted folder.
- Right-click it, select Properties, then go to the Compatibility tab.
- Check Run this program in compatibility mode for and choose Windows 10 or an earlier Windows version.
- Run as Administrator:
- Apply the changes and run the installer as an administrator.
4. Install via Device Manager
- Open Device Manager:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Locate the Audio Device:
- Expand the Sound, video, and game controllers section.
- Right-click the Realtek Audio device (or any unknown audio device) and select Update driver.
- Manually Browse the Driver:
- Choose Browse my computer for drivers, then Let me pick from a list.
- Point it to the folder where you extracted the driver files.
- Install the Driver:
- Select the appropriate driver from the list and proceed with the installation.
5. Use Generic Drivers
If the Realtek-specific driver does not work, install the generic High Definition Audio driver provided by Microsoft:
- In Device Manager:
- Right-click the audio device and select Update driver.
- Select Generic Driver:
- Choose Browse my computer for drivers → Let me pick from a list.
- Select High Definition Audio Device from the list and proceed.
6. Check for Alternative Driver Versions
If the provided driver version is incompatible:
- Check for an updated driver version on:
- HP's support page for your laptop model.
- Realtek’s official website (Realtek HD Audio Drivers).
- Alternatively, use tools like Snappy Driver Installer or Driver Booster to find compatible drivers.
7. Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers
Outdated BIOS or chipset drivers may prevent proper audio driver installation:
1.Click on the below link and install the latest BIOS update from the HP support page for your laptop.
