I can verify based on past troubleshooting that this is a problem with my machine, rather than with any software or external hardware. It doesn't matter if I use an external microphone or the microphone embedded in the computer, nor does it matter if I use the default voice recorder or Audacity.
When recording audio, the sound will cut out when my pitch gets to a certain height. It will record no noise at all. Is this an issue with an audio driver, a sound card? I need to get this fixed, as I would like to be able to record songs without needing to purchase an entirely new computer.
